In the movie, the magical adventure begins when Barbieâ, playing the role of Clara, receives a beautiful Nutcracker gift from her aunt. That night she awakes to find the Nutcracker has come to life and is battling against the sinister Mouse King (voiced by Tim Curry). The Mouse King casts an evil spell over Clara that causes her to shrink, so she and the Nutcracker set out on a fantastic adventure to find the Sugarplum Princess who has the power to undo the spell.

Ken joins Barbie® in this glittering performance, taking the role of Prince Eric. The bat Pimm adds to the humour of the film as the talkative, and very mischievous, sidekick to the Mouse King.

Not only is the story of “Barbie in the Nutcracker™” beautifully told but it also includes spectacular dance scenes created by the acclaimed New York City Ballet choreographer Peter Martins. Using state-of-the-art motion-capture technology, the real-life movements of five New York City Ballet dancers are translated into animation, ensuring that “Barbie in the Nutcracker™” brings the beauty of ballet to the screen in a way never seen before.

An Easter must-have for all girls, “Barbie in the Nutcracker™” shows that if you are kind, clever and brave, anything is possible.
