Updated: Tokyo Bullet goes Anamorphic
Here is an interesting announcement from the folk behind the Tokyo Bullet label, MIA. All of the titles released on the Tokyo Bullet label from this point onward will now be presented in Anamorphic Widescreen (all have so far been non-anamorphic). This practice will begin with the May release of Triple Cross (and not as previously suggested with Mondays release of Sonatine which was a mistake in the PR).
What follows is the final Press Release...
Tokyo Bullet goes anamorphic!
Well, that's about it really!
All releases from the best-selling Tokyo Bullet niche label will be anamorphic - widescreen presentations enhanced to fit widescreen TVs. This starts with the May release THE TRIPLE CROSS, continues through June with THE SCORE and onwards thereafter. Previously released titles may be remastered at a later date.
The move is due to new technology making the process more accessible and cost-effective for independent niche labels, of which Tokyo Bullet is a perfect example.
An MIA spokesman said the company behind Tokyo Bullet is delighted to be able to offer collectors the extra element some have requested.
