Three more from Criterion in July
The Criterion Collection recently announced three new titles all set for release on July 23rd.
Red Beard, from Director Akira Kurosawa, will feature a new high-definition digital transfer presented at the original 2.35:1 Aspect Ratio with Anamorphic Enhancement, the original Japanese Mono Audio track, an audio commentary by Kurosawa film scholar Stephen Prince, notes by Japanese film historian Donald Richie and the original theatrical trailer. Retail is $39.95.
Under the Roofs of Paris, from Director René Clair, will feature a new digital transfer presented at the original 1.33:1 Aspect Ratio, the original French Mono Audio Track, Clair’s silent film Paris qui dort (1925), a BBC-TV interview with Clair and the original Theatrical Trailer. Retail is $29.95.
A Nous la Liberte, also from Director René Clair, will feature a new digital transfer presented at the original 1.33:1 Aspect Ratio, the original French Mono Audio Track, Deleted scenes, Entr’acte (1924), the short Surrealist masterpiece by Clair and artist Francis Picabia, a video interview with Madame Bronja Clair , and Film historian David Robinson on the Tobis lawsuit against Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times. Retail is $29.95.
All titles feature new and improved English subtitle translations.
