October announcements from the BBC

The BBC have announced the next Doctor Who DVD release for October 7th 2002. Doctor Who - The Aztecs will feature four episodes that make up 'The Aztecs' story and were originally broadcast between 23rd May and 13th June 1964. Presented in Full Frame the episodes have been digitally remastered and are accompanied by the original Mono Soundtrack. Extra features are plentiful and include the following...

  • Commentary by Verity Lambert OBE, William Russell, Carole Ann Ford
  • Remembering the Aztecs - A newly recorded documentary featuring John Ringham, Walter Randall and Ian Cullen
  • Designing the Aztecs - An exclusive interview with set designer Barry Newberry
  • The Story of Cortez and Montezuma - Originally transmitted on Blue Peter on 21/09/1970 and features Valerie Singleton
  • Restoring the Aztecs - A look at the digital remastering process for this DVD
  • Arabic Soundtrack - The final episode includes an option to view it in Arabic
  • Making Cocoa - An animated guide to making cocoa the Aztec way

Michael Palin's Sahara follows a week later on the 14th October and features all 240-minutes of this series complemented by an Audio Commentary with Michael Palin, Deleted Scenes, Behind-the-scenes footage and an exclusive interview with Michael Palin about the trip.

Rounding out the month on the 21st October is Linda Green - Series 1 that features all 10 episodes (300-minutes) from the television series starring Liza Tarbuck.

All three titles carry a retail price of £19.99 each.
