Swordsman - Remastered DTS Edition

IVL have announced the Hong Kong Region 3 DVD release of Swordsman for 12th August 2004. The Swordsman, based on the classic novel by legendary martial arts writer Jin Yong is one of the greatest martial arts stories ever told focused around the classic tale of Good versus Evil, struggle for power and how a hero remains honest in a corrupt world. Ling Wu-Chung (Sam Hui) might only be concerned with boozing and singing, but when the Sacred Scroll, a manual which promises great martial arts power and supremacy over the other clans is stolen, Ling is reluctantly drawn into the struggle for the Scroll. Secrets are revealed, loyalty is betrayed, new alliances are made, and Ling begins to realise that when power beings to corrupt, what is good and evil is not so clear anymore.

Produced by Tsui Hark and brought to the screen by various directors which include Ann Hui, Tsui Hark, Ching Siu-Tung and legendary King Hu, the Swordsman is considered a martial arts classic that revitalised the genre in Hong Kong.

Fully re-mastered with enhanced video and audio quality the film is presented in anamorphic widescreen with the original theatrical mix and optional Dolby 5.1 and DTS surround sound options which bring the audience into a dynamic world with fascinating martial actions and enchanting music. Bonus features include interviews with Jackie Cheung and James Wong where they discuss various aspects of the films production, while a limited edition premium comes in the form of a special Sam Hui Swordsman pictorial book.
