In My Room trailer: A Cannes-award nominee about a man left alone on Earth
There’s no shortage of ‘last man on Earth’ films to choose from, be it Vincent Price’s The Last Man on Earth, the Will Smith-led I Am Legend (both adaptations of the same novel) or Charlton Heston’s The Omega Man. Ulrich Köhler’s In My Room follows on with a similar story and received largely good reviews after it first appeared at Cannes last year. 18 months on and it is finally getting ready for a release in the States. Watch the trailer for In My Room above to take a closer look.
Lost in life and beset by a recent passing, Armin has nowhere to go and just as much to show for himself. Fate (or something like it) intervenes when Armin awakes one morning and discovers that seemingly all of humanity has disappeared, leaving him to his limited devices and opening the door for self-discovery — but the gift of maximum freedom bears complications.
Köhler also wrote the script, with the cast starring Hans Löw, Elena Radonicich, Michael Wittenborn, Ruth Bickelhaupt, Emma Bading, Katharina Linder and Felix Knopp.
In My Room has just opened in New York and will get a wider release in the weeks to come.
