Casting a spotlight on two of the world's most popular creations, the Best of Porky and Daffy collection contains some of the most superb cartoons from the vaults of Warner Bros.
Developed by Tex Avery, Bob Clampett and Frank Tashlin, the true legends of the Golden Age of Animation, Porky Pig made his screen debut in 1935 and quickly evolved into the character that is known and loved today. In 1937 a cartoon called Porky's Duck Hunt introduced the character of Daffy, a totally kwazy quack who over time developed into a much different character, a devious duck whose schemes always go awry.
The two cartoons that bookend this collection, most of which dates from the 1940's to 1950's are all-time classics of the genre. DUCK AMUCK was ironically inspired by a lack of inspiration and plays with the notion of Daffy being a cartoon character, drawn by an unseen artist, yet having a life of his own. DUCK DODGERS IN THE 24 ½ CENTURY is a hilarious send-up of the science fiction genre, featuring Porky as Eager Space Cadet and an appearance by Marvin Martian, plus the exceptional layouts of Maurice Noble.
And 'That's Not All Folks!' as this collection contains a further 12 classic cartoon shorts plus an array of DVD special features including audio commentary on 5 episodes, music commentary on 3 shorts, various 'Behind the Tunes' featurettes including a tribute to the world's most famous ham and a stills gallery.
