Last Christmas trailer: Paul Feig helps Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding to fall in love
If you haven’t got a superhero or musical angle to your film at the moment then you might as well go straight to rental (will someone combine the two?). Last Christmas features the music of George Michael (Andrew Ridgeley is going to be pissed), following on from a host of films using tunes by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, ABBA, The Beatles, Queen and Elton John. Judging by the trailer it looks like your standard corny romcom, with Henry Golding in typical cardboard cutout form. Watch the trailer for Last Christmas above to see for yourself.
Kate is a young woman subscribed to bad decisions. Her last date with disaster? That of having accepted to work as Santa’s elf for a department store. However, she meets Tom there. Her life takes a new turn. For Kate, it seems too good to be true.
Feig directs, with Emma Thompson starring and co-writing the script with Bryony Kimmings. Emilia Clarke, Henry Golding and Michelle Yeoh also star.
Last Christmas opens in US cinemas on November 8, followed by November 15 in the UK.
