Against the Ropes, ST Voyager Season 3 and more from Paramount

Paramount Home Entertainment have announced the following Region 1 DVD releases for the first half of July 2004...

Star Trek: Voyager The Complete Third Season - $129.98 - All 26 original broadcast episodes from the third season are presented on this 7 disc set in the original full screen aspect ratio with new 5.1 audio tracks (alongside the original 2.0 surround) and optional English subtitles.

  • Braving the Unknown: Season 3
    Writers and Producers Rick Berman, Brannon Braga and Jeri Taylor discuss highlights of the Third Season, including "Basics Pt. 2,” the two-parter "Future's End” and "Scorpion.”

  • Voyager Time Capsule: Neelix
    Features a new interview with Ethan Phillips and others discussing his role as Voyager's resident Talaxian, Neelix. Includes a look at Ethan's current projects, including a role on Enterprise and starring with Armin Shinerman in a production of Hamlet.

  • Voyager Time Capsule: Kes
    Features a new interview with Ethan Phillips, Robert Picardo and Tim Russ in addition to Jennifer Lien discussing her role on the series.

  • Flashback to "Flashback”
    A special look at the episode with guest star George Takei ("Sulu"). Includes interviews with Takei, Tim Russ and an exploration of how scenes from "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country” were re-created for this episode.

  • Red Alert: Amazing Visual Effects
    Visual effects wizards Dan Curry and Ronald B. Moore provide an inside look at spectacular scenes from Season Three episodes, including "Basics Part II,” "Future's End,” "Scorpion” and "Distant Origin.”

  • Real Science with Andre Bormanis
    Andre Bormanis introduces famed astrophysicists who examine the reality of space phenomena as seen on the show, includes comments on the Wormhole seen in "False Profits” and the Supernova in "The Q and the Grey.”

  • Lost Transmissions
    Interviews with cast and crew discussing Season Three.

  • Photo Gallery

    Also arriving on 6th July 2004 are five catalogue titles retailing at $14.99 each. These offer film only presentations maintaining the original aspect ratio (with anamorphic enhancement) and soundtrack formats with optional English subtitles.

    Against the Ropes - $29.99 - Charles S. Dutton's feature-length directorial debut is based on the real-life story of Jackie Kallen, a Jewish woman from Detroit who became a successful boxing manager. Played by Meg Ryan, Kallen works her way up in the world of boxing by believing in the fighting skills of Luther Shaw (Omar Epps). Arriving in separate anamorphic widescreen and full screen editions, each will offer 5.1 audio, the featurettes A Ringside Seat and Queen Of The Ring: Jackie Kallen, Then & Now and the original theatrical trailer.

    Also arriving on 13th July 2004 are four more catalogue titles retailing at $14.99 each including the Mario Brava classic crime caper Danger: Diabolik. These also offer film only presentations maintaining the original aspect ratio (with anamorphic enhancement) and soundtrack formats with optional English subtitles.
