If you thought you could get a breather from the Endgame-mania until the awards season nonsense starts up again later in the year, think again.

Avengers: Endgame is heading back to US theatres this weekend with new footage attached to the credit sequence. It’s an obvious attempt to topple Avatar as the highest grossing film ever, with Kevin Fiege telling Screen Rant that people should “stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises,” he went onto say “it’s not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theatres with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie.”

It’s a limited release that arrives one week before Spider-Man: Far From Home, so the likelihood is it will tie into Peter Parker’s story. Avengers: Endgame is currently about $45 million short of Avatar and it can be the only reason why this limited rerelease is happening, especially since there have been a number of trailers for the final film in Phase 3.

Marvel also recently announced they will be returning to the San Diego Comic Con in July, which will probably be where they introduce Phase 4 of the MCU.
