In Fabric trailer: Peter Strickland's horror comedy features a dress to die for
Peter Strickland remains one of the most fascinating filmmakers working today, even if his films never manage to break through to a wider audience. On the surface, In Fabric plays like a silly tale about a killer dress that stalks its victims, but as with all Strickland releases there is a lot more going on than meets the eye. As our review last year stated, it's certainly the director's funniest film to date and perhaps his most curious. It first appeared at TIFF last September and has taken some time to nail down a release date for the UK, but the first trailer for In Fabric has arrived before it plays in cinemas at the end of next month. A great new poster was also released, which you can see below.
A haunting and macabre tale set against the backdrop of a busy winter sales period in a department store and follows the life of a cursed dress as it passes from person to person, with devastating consequences.
Stickland writes and directs, with Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Hayley Squires, Leo Bill and Gwendoline Christie, Richard Bremmer, Julian Barratt and Steve Oram all starring.
In Fabric opens in the UK on June 28, with no date yet set for the US.
A Q&A tour has also been announced and you can find out full details here.
