Apocalypse Now: Final Cut Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray releases delayed until mid September

Apocalypse Now (1979)
Dir: Francis Ford Coppola | Cast: Frederic Forrest, Marlon Brando, Martin Sheen, Robert Duvall | Writers: Francis Ford Coppola, John Milius, Michael Herr (narration)

News just in that the Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray releases of Apocalypse Now: Final Cut have been pushed back a few weeks to 16th September. The film will still show in cinemas from 16th August.

Previously: Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now has a new, "Final Cut", as part of it's 4K restoration and will be returning to cinemas on 13th August. Then on 26th August brand new 4K Blu-ray release of this cut will be released to own in a new bumper-packed special edition.

Restored from the original negative for the first time ever, Apocalypse Now Final Cut is Coppola’s most complete version of his multi-awarded classic -a haunting journey into madness that fascinated generations of movie lovers and now feels even more monumentally alive than ever before.

This is the first time the original negative has ever been scanned and over 11 months and 2,700 hours were spent on cleaning and restoring the film’s 300,173 frames.

The 4K release will feature both 4K and 1080p versions of the film in all three cuts (Theatrical, Redux and Final) along with three discs of extras. There will also be a Zavvi-exclusive Steelbook release.
