The Legend of the Tamworth Two in April

BBC Worldwide have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of The Legend of the Tamworth Two for 14th April 2004, just one day after it debuts on BBC One, with a retail price of £15.99. This is the legendary tale of two plucky pigs, Butch and Sundance, who captured the hearts of the nation when they notoriously escaped a Wiltshire slaughterhouse and went on the run back in January 1998!

Starring Kevin Whatley (Inspector Morse), Gerard Horan (London's Burning), Emma Pierson (Charles II) and Darren Boyd (Smack the Pony), and with the voices of Brian Blessed (Blackadder) and Frances Barber (Manchild), the film uses a mixture of live action and real pigs, and computer animation to make the animals appear to 'talk'. Tim Haines, whose credits include the BBC's award winning Walking With Dinosaurs, uses the same special effects as featured in the films Babe, Cats & Dogs and Stuart Little to bring our beloved Butch and Sundance to life.

DVD features will include commentaries with director Metin Huseyin and producers Sally Woodward and Lynn Horsford.
