Sundance London 2019 announces its full line-up
Sundance London returns to the capital once again this year, bringing with it 12 features that first appeared at its parent festival in Utah in January. Among those that stand out is the European première of The Nightingale, Jennifer Kent's follow-up to the fantastic The Babadook.
Late Night, a comedy written by Mindy Kayling and starring Emma Thompson, will open the festival, and The Farewell, a comedy-drama written and directed by Lulu Wang led by Awkwafina, will also play.
Sophie Hyde's Animals will be making an appearance, along with the acclaimed documentary Apollo 11 and Penny Lane's Hail Satan? which closes out the festival. Two more documentaries playing in late May and early June will be The Brink, which follows Steve Bannon during his year at the White House, and Ask Dr. Ruth.
There will be a UK Short Film Programme featuring 7 short films, and the 2019 Sundance Film Festival Short Film Tour, a 96-minute theatrical program featuring 7 films that appeared at Utah in January.
The festival will take place at London’s Picturehouse Central, May 30th – June 2nd 2019. Check out the Picturehouse website for more details about tickets.
