Adaptation, Mothman Prophecies SE and more from Columbia

Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment have announced several additions to their Region 1 DVD release schedule for May this year. Arriving on May 13th 2003 is the Oscar nominated Talk to Her from director Pedro Almodovar. The disc will offer an anamorphic widescreen presentation of the film with Spanish and French DD5.1 audio, an audio commentary by Pedro Almodovaar and Geraldine Chaplin and trailers. Retail is $26.95.

On May 20th comes another Oscar nominated title in the form of Adaptation from director Spike Jonze. This title will be released on the Superbit line so you can expect an anamorphic widescreen presentation, English DD5.1 and DTS audio tracks and just the trailer in terms of bonus materials. Retail is $27.95.

Finally on May 27th Columbia will offer new special editions of two existing titles. The one offering the most in terms of new features is The Mothman Prophecies 2-disc special edition ($27.95 RRP) that includes the following material...

  • 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen transfer
  • English and French DD5.1 audio
  • Audio Commentary with director Mark Pellington
  • 5 Deleted Scenes
  • "Search for the Mothman" documentary
  • "Day by Day: A Director's Journey - The Road In" featurette
  • "Day by Day: A Director's Journey - The Road Home" featurette
  • "Halflight" music video
  • Trailers
While the second title is a new 2-disc Superbit Deluxe edition of Charlies Angels that offers all of the extras from the existing disc (with the exception of the Audio Commentary) along with a new 'superbit' anamorphic widescreen transfer with English DD5.1 and DTS audio tracks. Retail is $24.95.
