The Silence trailer: Stanley Tucci and Kiernan Shipka's new film definitely has no link to Bird Box or A Quiet Place

According to Netflix, Bird Box was ridiculously successful (45 million views in 7 days, which is based on an account watching 70% of the runtime) and watching the trailer for The Silence, it's hard to shake the similarities with A Quiet Place or Bird Box. The film is based on the book of the same name - which came out 3 years before A Quiet Place - and hit bookshelves a year after the Bird Box book came out. You can come to your own conclusions (although it surely cannot be as bad as A Quiet Place). Still, it has Stanley Tucci in it who is always good to watch, so check out the trailer for The Silence yourself above to see what you think.

When the world is under attack from terrifying creatures who hunt their human prey by sound, 16-year old Ally Andrews, who lost her hearing at 13, and her family seek refuge in a remote haven. But they discover a sinister cult who are eager to exploit Ally’s heightened senses.

John R. Leonetti (The Conjuring, Annabelle) directs, with the cast featuring
Stanley Tucci, Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto, John Corbett, Kate Trotter and Kyle Breitkopf.

The Silence arrives on Netflix on April 10th.
