MGM R1 catalogue titles in May including Junior Bonner and Hell in the Pacific

MGM Home Entertainment have announced the following R1 catalogue titles for release in May 2004 with a retail price of $14.95 each...

Arnold Schwarzenegger made his American film debut in Stay Hungry which arrives on 18th May 2004 complete with the following features:

  • 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
  • English Mono
  • English, French and Spanish subtitles
  • Audio commentary by stars Jeff Bridges, Sally Field and director Bob Rafelson
A week later on 25th May 2004 MGM will debut a range of western favourites and war epics, all of which feature English, French and Spanish subtitles with individual specs to follow.

Sam Peckinpah's Junior Bonner will feature a non-anamorphic widescreen transfer with English Mono sound and comes with an Audio Commentary by Sam Peckinpah's biographical authors Paul Seydor, Garner Simmons and David Weddle and moderator Nick Redman. With a special edition readily available you may wonder why MGM would bother with the theatrical version of Dances with Wolves but they are releasing it in Full Screen only with English DD5.1 Surround and French Stereo Surround audio options.

The Last Valley, Duel in the Sun, Hell in the Pacific, Custer of the West, Shalako and A Minute To Pray, A Second To Die are all barebones releases with the film presented in non-anamorphic widescreen with English Mono audio.

Too Late The Hero, Guns of the Magnificent Seven and The Magnificent Seven Ride! round out the catalogue releases and are once again barebones only this time we are given anamorphic widescreen transfers with English Mono (and additional Spanish Mono tracks on the Magnificent Seven titles).
