Alice trailer: The SXSW winner details the breakdown of a 'perfect' family

Last night director Josephine Mackerras picked up the award for best narrative feature with Alice at the South By Southwest Festival. It is the French director's first film and it also saw her collect the CherryPicks Female First Award. The full list of jury and audience awards were have been announced and you can check them out here. Historically, it usually takes some time for foreign language films to reach the UK, but judging by the trailer, this looks like one to wait patiently for. After discovering that her husband's addiction to escorts has left their family penniless, Alice finds herself drawn into the world of high-end prostitution as a means of caring for herself and her child.

Mackerras also penned the script and produced the film, with Emilie Piponnier starring in the titular role, Martin Swabey appearing as her husband, and Chloé Boreham, Nicolas Buchoux and Eliza Calmat in support.

As of yet there is no news on any release dates for Alice but we'll keep you updated as and when.
