We've seen the story of Bonnie and Clyde made into classic film, but what about the detectives that brought them to justice? The Highwaymen seems like a good pairing in Harrelson and Costner: two old school veterans who get results with their 'traditional' methods. This will be an R-rated film in the US, which means a 15 in the UK, and it will be playing in select cinemas ahead of its arrival on Netflix. Check out the trailer for The Highwaymen above to see more.

The film follows the untold true story of the legendary detectives who brought down Bonnie and Clyde. When the full force of the FBI and the latest forensic technology aren’t enough to capture the nation’s most notorious criminals, two former Texas Rangers must rely on their gut instincts and old school skills to get the job done.

John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side, Saving Mr. Banks) directs, with Kathy Bates, Kim Dickens and John Carroll Lynch in support.

The Highwaymen will launch in selected cinemas from March 15th and globally on Netflix on March 29th.
