In the tradition of Monty Python, US comedy troupe Broken Lizard (Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske) write, direct and star in this hilarious tale of traffic violations, highway high jinks… and a hint of bestiality!
Stoned college kids heading across the border for french fries and gravy, speeders, drug smugglers and just about any other potential law breaker would be best to avoid the barren stretch of Vermont motorway presided over by the SUPER TROOPERS. Thorny (Chandrasekhar), Mac (Lemme), Rabbit (Stolhanske), Foster (Soter) and Farva (Heffernan) are State Troopers who act more like fraternity brothers in uniform… with moustaches, badges, guns, handcuffs, sirens and a blow up doll !!!
The Super Troupers have an ongoing feud with the inept Spurbury local Police over who is the best force to look after the highways. The SUPER TROOPERS have turned arrest into an art form and have become specialists at screwing with motorists’ minds whilst screwing up on the job. They might go joyriding in impeded cars, stage a hold up for a laugh or break into the police station but these guys are definitely about justice… with a twist!
These hapless law-enforcers like nothing better than getting one over on their arch rivals led by Chief Grady (Daniel von Bargen, O Brother Where Art Thou). The local cops, with the exception of beautiful officer Ursula Hanson (Marisa Coughlan, Freddy Got Fingered) are always up for a good time too but Spurbury isn’t big enough for two forces. Budget cuts by Governor Jessman (Lynda Carter, Wonder Woman) mean that one will have to go. A race to the wire ensues as both forces try to save their jobs and the SUPER TROOPERS even start to play by the book in a bid to outwit the dumb-witted officers.
