From The Gold Rush and The Thing, to Cliffhanger and The Grey, seeing humans struggle with the very worst of nature's conditions always provides compelling viewing. Arctic is an Icelandic film that first appeared at Cannes last year and also played at the London Film Festival in October. It was shot in only 19 days in Iceland putting the entire crew through an intense experience in sub-zero temperatures. Reviews have been very strong so far and the always excellent Mads Mikkelsen also stars which makes it a must watch once released. The first trailer for Arctic has just been released and you can check it out above right now.
A man stranded in the Arctic after an airplane crash must decide whether to remain in the relative safety of his makeshift camp or to embark on a deadly trek through the unknown in hopes of making it out alive.
Brazilian director Joe Penna is behind the camera for his first feature film, with Maria Thelma Smáradóttir listed as the only other actor in the cast.
Arctic is released in US theatres in early February, with a UK date yet to be announced.
