Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer: Tom Holland and friends are having a nightmare summer holiday
You wait ages for one Avengers trailer and what comes along in the space of (roughly) a month? After the last Captain Marvel trailer dropped, attendees at the Brazilian Comic Con then got a first look at Spider-Man: Far From Home, but it was held back from the internet after almost 290 million people watched the Avengers: End Game trailer in only 24 hours. And yet, somewhat ironically, as good as Homecoming was, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has upped the ante for this sequel, pushing the boundaries of what a superhero film could, or should be.
This time round, Jake Gyllenhaal steps in as one of Spidey’s main enemies, Mysterio, which could be a brilliant fit, although he doesn't appear to have announced himself as the bad guy (just yet). However, what will be even more interesting to see is how director Jon Watts brings Spider-Man back to life. Remember, Spider-Man: Far From Home takes place after the events of Infinity War, which means that Spidey is dust right now. Yet, there is no indication given of how Peter re-appears, which probably means that will be explained in Endgame. Check out the trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home to see if any clues about his return are dropped.
Peter Parker and his friends go on summer holidays to Europe. However, the friends will hardly be able to rest - Peter will have to agree to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of creatures that cause natural disasters and destruction throughout the continent.
Jon Watts returns to direct, with the supporting cast starring Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Keaton, Cobie Smulders, Marisa Tomei, Samuel L. Jackson, Angourie Rice, Toni Revolori, Jacob Batalon, Remy Hii and Numan Acar.
Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into UK cinemas on July 5th 2019.
