Suicide Squad cast announced
DC Comics are playing catchup in the comic book adaptation world. Man of Steel didn't set the world alight but it did enough to kick start their plans that span the coming years. We're not that interested in the Justice League stuff here - while it has the potential to beat Marvel's Avengers, we're relying on Zack Snyder impressing us far more than he previously has done with his clash of the titans Dawn of Justice. On the other hand, Suicide Squad looks far more interesting and we now have a cast announcement to mull over...
And it's quite a cast - we have Will Smith playing Deadshot, Margot Robbie (Wolf of Wall Street) as Harley Quinn and Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises Bane) as Rick Flagg. On top of that we have Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Cara Delevingne is Enchantress and Jared Leto will take on The Joker - can he live up to the legacy left by Heath Ledger?
It's a good mix of big star names and more edgy less known actors - we can't wait to see how it all falls together. The film is being directed by David Ayer who has recently impressed with the Brad Pitt actioner Fury but we've got a couple of years to wait until the August 2016 release date to see the final result.
