Carrey Confirmed For Kick-Ass 2

We salute The Colonel

Not long ago there were rumours circulating that that crazy-faced laugh-magnet, Jim Carrey was showing some interest in upcoming super-sequel, Kick-Ass 2. Now confirmation is out that he’s officially on board the project.

The news comes from the film’s director, Jeff Wadlow, who shared his excitement with his followers on Twitter…

“6 days till we start shooting… and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f’n then!”

The Ace Ventura nod is enough to indicate that Carrey has taken the job of military themed crimefighter, The Colonel who enrols Kick-Ass (Aaron Johnson) and Hit-Girl into his group, Justice Forever. Together with the likes of Doctor Gravity (Scrubs’ Donald Faison) and Night Bitch (Dawn Of The Dead remake’s Lindy Booth) our hero continues his battle against the vengeful, Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse).

It’s been a while since Carrey had a crack at less family friendly comedy and Kick-Ass 2 could be a fine opportunity to return to the off the leash-loon we know he can be. Wait for the final result when the film arrives in June, 2013.
