Negativity and comments
I've been dismayed over the past few months witnessing the number of negative, unconstructive comments appearing following the reviews that DVD Times contributors slave over, unpaid, for hours on end. We can all accept a bit of criticism, as long as it's constructive, but recent weeks has seen a number of direct attacks on the people writing reviews for the site.
It seems to be a symptom of how things are on the internet nowadays - rarely do you see anything but negativity and conflict. People are quick to dismiss a review they disagree with as the 'worst ever', when in fact what they don't like is that the reviewer has a different opinion and has chosen to air it on the site.
All of our reviewers take pride in the work they submit to the site, they give up their own time to do it and this should be applauded. We don't charge a penny for you to visit and view their work so if you disagree with a review, feel free to say so and say why, but please don't post offensive and useless comments writing off a whole review because it's not to your liking.
