What To Watch: 21/12/2011
Christmas is good for lots of things, but mainly for absolutely cracking TV. From the 19th December to the 1st January, we'll be giving you a daily report on what you should be watching.
Nigel Slater's Simple Christmas
7:30pm on BBC1
If you can't be faffed with spending hours in the kitchen on Christmas Day, watch this. Instead of worrying about the turkey and the veg cooking perfectly, just make this lazy Christmas casserole.
Downton Abbey: Behind the Drama
7:30pm on ITV1
Downton Abbey has taken the world by storm, so this behind-the-scenes look is essential viewing for most of the population of Britain. Even if it's just one giant love-fest for the show, it'll give you a nice warm feeling for Christmas.
Top of the Pops 2
7:30pm on BBC2
Cheesy music? Check. Rare and cheering Christmassy snippets? Yup. Mark Radcliffe guides us through this Christmas music spectacle, which has everything from ABBA to Amy Winehouse tributes.
Rick Stein's Spanish Christmas
9:00pm on BBC2
Christmas is a time for massive overeating, and gazing longingly at photos of food surely counts as part of this. Rick Stein has prepared a Spanish Christmas dinner for us. Roast lamb, spicy chicken, cod and a Seville orange Christmas pudding. Yum.
Ruth Jones's Christmas Cracker
10:00pm on BBC2
Jones is fabulous. That we can all agree on. Last year's Christmas Cracker was nothing short of hilarious, so we can expect much the same this year. Ruth will be talking to Lulu, Micky Flanagan and James Corden and the Manic Street Preachers.
