Vengeance Comes To Agents of SHIELD with Ghost Rider
At first there was a bus advertising Agents of SHIELD driving around San Diego. Across the bus was the image of a burning chain. This instantly made people think of Ghost Rider but as there was an Inhuman still running around that had also used a burning metal chain people tempered their expectations.
Then Marvel arrived at San Diego Comic Con with what looked to be a muscle car beneath a tarpaulin. The rumours were back. Ghost Rider is coming to Agents of SHIELD but would most likely be the most recent Robbie Reyes iteration of the character.
Then, from the Agents of SHIELD panel at SDCC came the confirmation: Vengeance is coming this fall. Here's the teaser trailer:
Here is the SHIELD cast unveiling the car on the show floor:
Gabriel Luna has joined the cast as Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider whom Executive Producer Jeph Loeb promises "will change everything." It's not clear how much of a part he will play in the story or if he will open up Coulson and Co. to a whole new level of threats. With Doctor Strange opening up the mystical side of the MCU it only makes sense that Agents of SHIELD follow suit.
The show returns to ABC on the 20th September at a new, later time slot of 10pm. No UK airdate has yet been given though expect it in the spring as E4 will want to limit the effects of US production breaks again.
