Ubisoft Makes It Rain Dollar Bills On A Sunny Day
To celebrate the launch of their highly-anticipated videogame, Tom Clancy’s The Division, Ubisoft wowed commuters in Shoreditch, East London this morning by unveiling a wall covered in thousands of specially printed replica dollar banknotes.
A small number of these ‘dirty dollars’ featured special markings that enabled members of the public to win prizes including Xbox One consoles, copies of the game and Xbox Live subscriptions.
Within an hour of the unveiling, hundreds of passing members of the public had stripped the wall clean with some resorting to jumping, climbing on bins and even using sticks to try and obtain a specially marked note.
As the notes were stripped off the wall, a stunning piece of street artwork was revealed bringing to life the central story within The Division, in which New York is hit by a devastating pandemic spread by infected banknotes.
The specially commissioned mural of some of New York’s most famous landmarks, before, during and after the pandemic was created by renowned international creative collective Monorex.
